New Dimensions
Amorphous structures, wave-like forms, organic three-dimensional patterns, spherical shapes made from copper – the TECU® materials can now be taken into the third dimension.
For buildings, this means livelier, more distinctive façades that stand out and make a strong impression. The natural copper surfaces, whose visual qualities constantly change and develop over time with exposure to the elements, also create different effects depending on the time of day and the alternation of light and shade. The visual impact of changes taking place over the longer term are also new. Copper’s natural oxidisation process on the slope of the surface, so the colour of the three-dimensional surfaces will develop differently in each situation. Making TECU® surfaces three-dimensional offers many new, unexpected, exciting possibilities for copper façades.
The three-dimensional shapes of the TECU® surfaces are formed after the strips of copper and copper alloys are produced, by means of hammering, moulding and hydroforming. These machining procedures do not affect in any way the proven qualities of TECU® products: they remain easy to work, long-lasting and economical.
